Lavender, Amethyst and Everything Purple

Amethyst is crystalline quartz in colors ranging from pale lilac to purple, violet and deep reddish purple. In my experience on handling amethyst, I have seen amethyst in lilac with beautiful pink undertones, lavender up to deep violet, plum and rasberry with some hints of blue, red and some are rich brown. Like lavender 😍 The ideal grade of amethyst has a primary purple hue with some blue, called the "Deep Siberian" amethyst. High quality amethyst can be found in Siberia, Sri Lanka, Brazil and Uruguay.

In ancient Greece, it was believed that if you wore an amethyst it would prevent from drunkenness. The Ancient Egyptians use it as protective amulets by carving amethyst into the shapes of animals.

Amethyst has alleged to bring temperance and mental balance to the wearer. The deep purple of an amethyst gemstone has long signified royalty and adorns many crowns and royal jewelry. It is meant to exude wealth and power with its warm and cool color.
